The rumor I heard was he wanted the role of Strider. Almost made me sick when I read that. He's foolish to think he can play the character.

On the other hand, Sean Connery is in New Zealand right now, or was a couple weeks ago. He might have just been on vacation; then again, Jackson might have been considering him for Gandalf or somebody. And that would be a wonderful idea.
