We came up with Nicholas Cage strictly as an alternative to Keanu Reeves. Specifically, it was "...I'd rather see Nicholas Cage than Keanu Reeves." And the more we talked about it, the more intriguing it became. I think we picked him just for the novelty of it.

Seems we have the same opinion of Timothy Dalton. He was the one I chose. I've also heard that they're going to offer the part of Frodo to Elijah Wood. I'm not really familiar with him, so I don't have much of an opinion on that. He does seem a little young, but oh well.
