When Maureen O'Sullivan announced she would not be returning to the role of Jane after the prior episode, MGM decided they weren't interested in the franchise anymore. This allowed producer Sol Lesser, who had previously produced other, competing Tarzan films, to continue the series at RKO. He would go on to spend the rest of his career producing Tarzan films almost exclusively. Johnny Weissmuller and Johnny Sheffield reprised their roles as Tarzan and Boy and would continue to do so for several more outings. In this episode, Tarzan battles Nazis who want to mine the jungle of its minerals and natural resources to aid the war effort. Tarzan Triumphs was a real hit with the audiences of 1943, who cheered Tarzan to victory.
