This grating made-for-video prequel, featuring the characters from the 1999 film in their younger years, could scarcely be more grating on the ears. Why are the voices of kid characters in cheap cartoons always so shrill? Not that the movie would have been much better anyway: the story is facile and predictable, nary a nuance in sight.
