Dagwood joins the army reserve core (with the expected results) and a swindler (played by William Frawley, in his third of three appearances in the series) tries to sell his house when the Bumsteads are away. It's pretty tame compared to most of the Blondie comedies; while better done than the previous outing, Blondie Hits the Jackpot, it's not as funny. Listen and you'll hear the names of three of Daisy's five puppies.
