Rita Hayworth, perhaps the biggest star to make a guest appearance in the Blondie series, stars as an old flame of Dagwood's. The film's humor is mellow compared to most of the other early episodes, but it's high on heart. Jonathan Hale's J. C. Dithers and the rest of the crew at Dagwood's office take a break -- Blondie On a Budget is the second of only two Blondie film not to have any involvement with Dagwood's workplace. Watch for a classic scene where Daisy has a little too much to drink.
