Never say never, but usually advice from the ignorant is not worth much.

I've found that non-flyers know very little about airplanes, but I agree that facts are facts.

As far as I know, nobody has ever even tried to jump Grand Canyon on a motorcycle. But they tell me riding a motorcycle is not at all dangerous. Falling off, and running into things certainly is. However, I am not very well quaified to talk about that since I never ride motorcycles. Never have, unless you count that really small one I had in high school. It was slower than a modern bicycle.
