Now at 10177700 bytes. A few months ago I converted things over to work with the Smash engine/language now used by all the AGL games on RinkWorks. There were also many other things that could be then be simplified, because Smash is so much more versatile than AGLL was, so my byte count dropped a bit from where it would have been, during those months.

Also I took some time to break apart those 500 or so location files I had which often packed more than one location into the same file. Now with Smash there are location files, and then there are function files which contain function code and don't really represent locations (usually). The distinction is blurry, and I have enough of each kind of file so that it doesn't make sense to count files anymore for an indication of progress. If anyone cares, though, there are a total of 1114 of them now.

Lately progress has been very good, and I'm working through a very large, very puzzle-dense part of the game about 80-90% of the way through the story. Most of the game is more story-focused than the other AGL games tend to be, but this large section is an exception. For a while, that was holding me back from wanting to work on it, but I guess I'm more in a mood to design puzzles now.
