I thought this would make for a fun discussion topic. :) Yesterday, there was a Biography special on A & E about Sesame Street. Now, I don't know how many of you watched that show when you were little (or watch it when your kids do, or just watch it now, or whatever), but I lived for that show when I was a kid. :) And watching that special made me feel all nostalgic, going "Oh, I remember seeing that!" "That was my FAVORITE sketch!" and such.

So I raise the question: if you watched Sesame Street at some point in your life, who was your favorite character? Is there a favorite part you liked, a certain segment you liked very much? Maybe a Sesame Street book that you loved? :)

Me, I loved Grover. :) He was way bigger than Elmo when I was a kid. I especially loved Super Grover! And my favorite book of all was a book with Grover in it - There's A Monster At The End Of This Book. Heehee. :) I also liked Snuffy, and another bunch of characters that seem to be forgotten today - the Twiddlebugs.

As for segments, I'll never forget the ones with the little alien guys. ("Ra-di-o. Ra-di-o! Uh huh, uh huh, yep yep yep yep, uh huh, yep yep yep yep!") And Captain Vegetable! ("I am I, Captain Vegetable! With my carrots, and my celery!")

I also remember watching different versions of Sesame Street. When living in Holland, my sister often watched the Dutch version, Sesam Straat. I don't remember much of that, but I do remember that their version of Big Bird was light blue, not yellow. And before we moved to Holland, they had a special where they aired some episodes of Shalom Sesame, a Hebrew version. It was all in English, but you learned about places in Israel and about the Hebrew alphabet. That was cool.

So... what about you guys? Come on, let the inner child on out! :)
