This is just a wild guess, but is "synergy" short for "sycronized energy?"

Thank you, Howard! I think you found the missing ingredient that I was looking for. Or, at least, another step in the right direction.

So how is it cultivated? After all, waveforms in physics are just as likely to cancel each other out as they are to enhance each other. If you place a microphone too close to a speaker, and you get the feedback squeal... there is a critical distance, a critical volume level, and probably several other factors involved.

So what is the nature of synergy as it applies to groups of people? What are our parameters, and can we tweak them? Or, if that is too difficult to define, what factors cause synergy to cancel itself out?
