They already do have something for animals; it emits a high-frequency sound that we can't hear, but apparently is supposed to drive them off. You attach it to... somewhere on the front. (There's also a form that people can install in yard that they want to keep gophers and the like out of.) If the frequency can be lowered well into the range of human hearing, it might work.
