I'm with Stephen on this one. Huh?
Synergy isn't really a measureable thing. It's like love, or fatigue; it's a condition that occurs. People get more accomplished when they work together, just like they get tired when the run a mile. That said, it is possible for groups of people to work together and get *less* done than they would if they were all working separately. This might be caused by disagreement and bickering or by sitting around visiting instead of working. For example, I'm working on a group project that I would have been able to complete faster on my own than with the group (the person who wrote the paper did a horrible job, leaving me to rewrite it for the sake of my grade). But that's really about as far as the concept goes.
