caution, grouching zone ahead

Bye bye baseball
Baseball is no longer our national sport. Neither is NASCAR. The leading sport in the USA is price gouging, AKA price fixing. First it was gasoline, then it was milk, and now icecream. Things like building materials and medicine have been high for a long time, but expect another jump. Who else will look at the success of big oil and say, "Hey, we can do that!"?*

In this country, profit is our most important product. Not surprising, when you consider that it's the only thing we make. Everything else is made overseas.

It's tough on people like me who do nothing for a living. It's not easy raising the price of doing nothing. I earned my retirement back when things were cheaper. Those bucks don't go very far in the Era of Price Gouging.

Out near the interstate, I noticed that all five of the gas stations have exactly the same price for unleaded regular. Coincidence, I suppose. I'd tell you the price, but it changes so fast, and in perfect unison. Besides, I have trouble reading those large numbers.

*OK punctuation buffs, get off my back. I had to do that to say what I wanted to say.
