Adding to the names...
In her hippy days, my mom knew a lady who named her daughter Snow. Years later, my mom bumped into the lady again and learned that she had since married a guy whose last name was -- yep, you guessed it -- White. Snow took his last name. I wouldn't quite believe it, except for the fact that years after THAT, we bumped into them again, and they happened to be living in the same area we were living. (The girl was blonde, unlike the Disney Snow White.)
Then there was another one of my mom's hippy friends who named her son Bumpus.
And there was the very strange family who lived in Yreka and had the last name of Pitts. They were apparently evil, because they named their son Harry. Incidentally, they named a daughter Peaches.
Last, but not least, is my mother. She gave me a new middle name when my sister was born, and now her three daughters have the middle names of Grace, Faith and Hope. Perhaps that is partly why I refused to go by anything other than my first name when I was in eighth grade.
