I know there are a lot of movie fans on the forum and I was wondering what everyone's favorite films are. Below are some categories with my selections in them, and maybe you will know some other good movies I should check out. I don't mind if you have a couple of favorites for some categories, just make a list...

Action:
- The Matrix
- Jurassic Park

Adventure/Fantasy/Sci-Fi:
- The Star Wars Saga (so far)
- The LOTR Trilogy (again, so far)
- The Back to the Future Trilogy
- The Indiana Jones Trilogy (hey, I'm a sucker for series!)

Drama/Suspence:
- A Beautiful Mind
- The Truman Show
- Patch Adams
- Forrest Gump (this is sort of a drama, I guess)

Comedy:
- The Princess Bride
- Beverly Hills Ninja
- Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure
- Three Amigos
- Airplane!
- Dumb & Dumber
- George of the Jungle

Animated:
- The Toy Story movies
- Monsters, Inc.
- Okay, okay, I love anything by Pixar!
- Shrek
- Mulan

Romance:
- I don't like romance movies.

Western:
- Nope, don't like westerns, either.

Historical:
- Umm, maybe Titanic. Maybe.

Horror:
- I hate horror movies.

Foreign:
- I typically find all foreign films to be snore-worthy.

I've seen a few movies lately that I flat-out didn't like. Namely, there are a few somewhat recent films that tried to be witty but just weren't. They get a special category of their own, which I have titled...

Movies That You Never, Ever Want To See -- Trust Me:
- Big Trouble
- Hollywood Ending
- Mission to Mars

There's also another category for movies that I haven't seen yet, but want to:
- Spider-Man
- Small Time Crooks
- City Slickers
- Bean
- There's Something About Mary
- The Fast and the Furious

As an additional note, probably the funniest scene ever caught on film is the Adolf Hitler scene in the movie Rat Race. I just saw this last weekend and laughed my tail off. The rest of the movie is just above mediocre, but that scene was worth it. Another average movie with an extremely funny scene (actually this movie had a few of them) is Rocketman. I thought the movie was just some dumb kids comedy (which it is), but the sketches were put together ingeniously and the timing is perfect. Lastly, the 1992 John Ritter comedy Stay Tuned was extremely stupid and cheesy but the TV/movie parodies are classic.

That's it for now. Let me know if there are any good movies I missed (or bad ones, too) that I should know about. Hooray for Hollywood!
