Darth Maul was just Ep1's Boba Fett. The character was really hyped-up as the ultimate bad-ass, background shrouded in mystery... Combined, the two characters had ten lines of dialogue, if that. They show up, look really menacing, then poof! Dead.

What did Boba Fett actually do? Well, he spoke to Darth Vader and he had a jetpack. He didn't capture Han Solo, Vader and the Empire did. Darthboy just let Fett take the Hansicle to Jabba.
He basically just stands around looking buff, falls of a skiff and dies.

What did Darth Maul actually do? Just looked spooky and had a double-bladed lightsaber. Okay, so he did manage to kill a jedi -- more than Boba Fett did. But really, he just stood around looking evil then gets chopped in half.

Eh.

Darth Vader: ..and no disintegrations.

Boba Fett: As you wish.

Peter Falk: That day, Darth was amazed to discover that when Fett was saying "As you wish", what he meant was, "I love you." And even more amazing was the day he realized he truly loved him back.

Fred Savage: Hold it, hold it! What is this? Are you trying to trick me? Where's the sports? [suspiciously] Is this a kissing movie?
