O'Connor Wants Foliage On Parkway Fence
Pittsburgh City Councilman Bob O'Connor doesn't like the look of a new fence installed along the Parkway East.

So he's recommending some foliage to make it look better.

A chain-link fence has been installed along the right side of the highway near the bluff. O'Connor says that the metal fence doesn't provide a nice gateway to the city. He says that it's like driving past a prison.

Ironically, the Allegheny County Jail is less than a mile down the Parkway from the new fence.

O'Connor is also proposing a similar plan along Route 51.

Question: Do any of you pay attention to the fences while your driving down the highway? I know I sure don't. And my tax money will probably get wasted on this. Which is why when I run for mayor, you all better vote for me.
