This, of course, is obvious; more time working = less time playing. However, this problem has escalated to the point where I feel that I have far too little time for my hobbies. At first, I thought perhaps I was simply a whiner, complaining about problems that everyone has. More and more, though, I am beginning to think that it is a very real problem, and that I do have less time than other people for some reason. I know that this sort of thinking is irrational, though. There are twenty-four hours each day and seven days each week no matter who you are. My question, then, is this: For those of you who are working full time, or who have equivalent commitments that keep you out of the home for at least forty hours a week, how much do you squeeze into a week, and how do you do it? Do you often feel as I do, that you get all the necessities done, but little more?

I am in the same boat as you. I spend approx. 45-50 hours a week at work. There are lots of things that I would like to spend time on, so I usually end up staying up late during the week. It's rare that I go to bed before one o'clock in the morning.

On weekends, I try to get up at a semi-decent hour and make sure I have plenty of time to do the things I want to do.

One of the things I've been neglecting is spending time with my friends. My schedule at work is very flexible, so I occasionally take a long lunch to meet a friend. Several of my friends have similar flexibility in their schedules, so we've taken as much as a three hour lunch and gone out to a place called GameWorks. It's a huge video game arcade, restaurant, bar, etc...

It's just a matter of making the time, not trying to find it.
