Think of all the things that you do that aren't essential. Turn off the TV and read that book. People always complain about not having time to read but many of them find plenty of time to watch TV.

AHA! You feel into my trap! (Well, not really.) I have been through some of the "prioritize" line of thought, and have come to the conclusion that most of the things I do are things that I want to do. I say most because there are some that are not important, and I am trying to cut back on those. When I include ALL these things, though, I KNOW I am trying to pack too much into too little time.

So, instead of hoping that time will fall into your lap to do your hobbies, look into the future and tell yourself, "In two hours/tomorrow/Tuesday, I'm going to do X." Then do it.

Now THIS is pure gold. I am a COMPLETE slave to routine, and this is where I need to start breaking free. I have been starting to do some of the things you suggested, but I will work on doing more of them. Perhaps I should go down to the Public Library after work today and get that membership I have been wanting for the last five years...

Eh, my friends never want to do anything interesting anyway. It's always about food or movies. I'm planning to either meet some people who do want to do fun stuff (or at least VARIED stuff) or do it on my own.
