Yes, you're right. My cat does that too. Right now she's curled up asleep on top of my laptop case, under my desk. It looks very uncomfortable and it's full of hard plastic connectors and pens and stuff sticking out of pockets, but it's MINE so she's happy.

It sure would be great to have human friends who would drop whatever they were doing and come running, all excited and happy, just because they hadn't seen me for a whole two or three minutes. Then again, most of my human friends are capable of retaining more than one thought in their heads at a time, and can conclude that just because I'm temporarily out of their line of sight, it doesn't necessarily mean I'm either dead or have moved to Tanzania and abandoned them forever.
