Funny, my dogs seem to do just the opposite. When I come home around the same time I always do, they get extremely excited (sometimes to the point where they'll run in front of the truck, which is pretty scary). If I get home late or early enough, though, they'll be a lot less exuberant and simply sidle up for a pat. I don't know if it's just conditioning or if they're a bit ticked off at me for being off schedule (I know that sounds nuts, but they can be sticklers for routine.)
