This Charlie Chan episode takes place on a docked ship. There's a treasure hunting expedition in the works, but when a woman is murdered under mysterious circumstances, the trip is postponed long enough for Charlie and Jimmy Chan to unravel the mystery. Most of the film takes place on the ship itself. It's one of the more contrived reworkings of the formula, and the relentless running around gets tiresome, but there's some fine moments of humor and spookiness to be had.
