Displaced people from the Gulf Coast? Did they turn down jobs in New Orleans because they were getting jobs in Houston? Did getting a job in New Orleans mean they wouldn't get any money from the government?

to answer your first question: many commercial contractors scoured the astrodome as well as the superdome with job propositions. Obviously the people who went and got jobs on their own were not included in my comment. And getting these jobs would automatically exclude from the need-based welfare checks. 100percent were declined. This all seemed pretty obvious to me, which is why i didn't mention any of it. the second question, these were all the people displaced to the two locations previously mentioned. from wherever. i was not exclusively talking about new orleans residents or houston residents. you also missed the entire point of my original. posting here is like talking to children. read the original again and if you are still confused as to what was really trying to be conveyed, jump off of a tall building.
