There is no such theory, and there never will be. This is because science can only tell us about the natural world and not the supernatural. And if a test was concieved that might touch upon the existence of God, theologians would no doubt point out that He does not like to be tested.

This also applies to all other possible supernatural beings; you cannot scientifically test for the existence of Odin, Zeus, Native American totem spirits, or the invisible pixies that live in my laundry room and eat my socks.

Your statement implies that you believe in God because you can't prove that He doesn't exist; I don't know if that's what you actually meant, but that's the impression I got. This only makes sense if you also believe in everything else that cannot be conclusively proved to be false. I would even extend that to say that you should believe in everything that could be disproved but has not been (Bigfoot and the secret Nazi base deep in the Amazon rain forest both come to mind).

Maybe I'm missing the mark, but it struck me as an odd reason to believe.
