I'm often amused and confused by the things I read on cars and trucks. Usually, it's
something spelled out in little chrome letters and numbers on the trunk or other parts of
the vehicle. Examples (with possible interpretation):
"intercooler" I suppose this means the car is air conditioned.
"GTO" Probably stands for "gas, tires, and oil," the products consumed by the car.
"5-speed" top speed 5 miles per hour.
"waste gate" this car has a small metal door in the floor which makes it possible to litter the highway without rolling down the window.
"Four Wheel Drive" Definitely not a motorcycle.
"4x4" sixteen miles per gallon
"Stealth" spy car -- it is made of light-weight, non-metalic materials that can't be
detected by police radar
"24 valves" unimportant mechanical detail that is supposed to impress people with only
12 valves
"Dyna-Flow" car equipt with a flush toilet
"Overdrive" Car is capable of going faster than it should, considering that it has weak
brakes and dim lights.
"Off Road" This means, "Vehicle has poor handling and will probably not be able to
stay on the road.
"Z-71" Engineers who designed this vehicle have been asleep since 1971.
"Ram Charger" possibly the driver is selling male goats on credit.
"ABS" Designed for use by driver with well developed abdominal muscles.
"Turbo-Charged" Powered by a gas turbine engine that has yet to be paid for.
"Cirrus" A cloud-like car that tends to float to high altitude.
"GT" You will be lucky if you Get There.
"High Output" a heavy polluter
"Viper" deadly, sneaky and dangerous
"Stingray" a car for bottom-dwelling boneless fish with a barb on their tail
"SHO" Cars driven by actors, singers, comics and others in sho biz.
"Fleetwood" fast, but made of wood
"CRX" It doesn't stand for anything but it sounds good.
"Paseo" "Honda" "Camero" "El Camino" "Amigo" etc. These must be cars and trucks
built in Spain.
