That's my theory as to why Atkins is so faddishly popular. People get to eat KFC. Also, they lose a lot of water weight in the first week or so, and that keeps them motivated.

Some juices even have added apple juice concentrate or the like, which acts as a sweetener but apparently doesn't count as "added sugar". I think only diabetics realize that sugar is sugar, whether it's naturally in the ingredients or added as a white crystal.
