I was just trying to be corny. Most pocket knives have a little slot on the side of the blade for opening. If it's on the wrong side, you just turn it over. Canoe paddles are usually used on first one side and then the other, so handedness is not important.

Fishing reels are rather strange. If you cast right handed with a casting reel, you swap it to the left hand before reeling back in. But a spinning reel has the crank on the left side and you cast right handed and then crank left handed. I switch back and forth between casting and spinning equipment without even thinking. I have seen reels that can be switched from left to right.

Rifles and shotguns are sometimes right or left handed, especially bolt-action models. On some guns the lefty has to worry about the empty shell casing being ejected into his face. Even some pistols are right or left handed, but usually not revolvers. You can usually convert a pistol by swapping the grips.

Golf clubs will only work one way, but baseball players have to have the right glove. Bats are like canoe paddles.

I remember picking up some left handed sissors once. What a shock!
