Ok. I've decided to break my vow of silence to point out something I feel important.

Do not give up on giving blood. Keep posted on the requirements the Red Cross has, they change. It used to be that if you had Diabetes, or were receiving chemotherapy, you couldn't donate. This is no longer the case.

I myself was told not to donate after my first time because I had certain elevated liver enzymes. They even went as far as to say that if I attempted to donate again before the issue was resolved, they'd blacklist me and I'd never be able to donate again. This past summer, I received a letter saying that they no longer tested for that enzyme, and pleaded me to donate again. And I have thrice since then.

My point is, again, don't feel that you should never attempt to donate again. Every pint is important, and somewhere down the road chances are good your "problem" will no longer be.
