A quick note. Snippage occurs here for reasons of space only.

I'm not that much of a regular forum poster, but I want to repond to this.

> This forum seems to me like a place that expects a lot out of people. Of course, spam is and should be deleted. At first, all was going pretty well. But now I've noticed that of the last dozen or so of my posts, almost all have either been deleted, not responded to, or responded to only negatively. So I stopped trying. the rest of you really didn't appreciate much of what I said. In fact, I wouldn't have posted anything on here again if it hadn't been for Sam's post. So I guess, to sum it up, I've stopped posting because the forum seems uninviting because I feel that I'm not on the same level as the rest of you.

Yes, we expect a lot out of people. However, the "lot" that we expect is PURELY the ability to write English correctly. That the grammar is correct and all the punctuation is in the right place. That is all.

Please do not ever feel that what you have to say is not going to be interesting to *everyone*. I read every post here and while some of it is not interesting to me personally, most of it is. And if it's interesting to me, chances are lots of others will feel the same.

What gets deleted on the forum is down to Sam. It's HIS forum and he can run it how he likes. I've had several posts deleted, some of which I was annoyed at, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

If no-one responds, it simply may be that no response is necessary. A story of what I had for dinner last night is unlikely to get a response beyond, "Hey, wow, I had that, too!" A discussion on the Meaning of Life or "What constitutes a good movie", or even, "Is chewing gum food?" is liable to go on for several pages.

Negative responses are not a bad thing, usually. Flame wars are rare and personal attacks are deleted as soon as they are posted. A negative response is most likely a differing point of view, a correction of the facts or even just a lighthearted, "Yah, boo, shucks!"

> And as a final note, if my hunch is correct, and I am not welcome here, then please, by all means, say so. I will not be offended, as I am already assuming the worst. I'll only have the peace of mind that I'm not misunderstanding somehow, and I'll "officially" leave, sparing you all the the atrocity of my presence.

Yes, you are welcome, at least by me. Just don't give up on us yet.
