This is the best analogy ever, and clearly proves that gum IS NOT FOOD.

Whether gum is candy or not is academic. Candy is food. Gum is not. If we posit that "all candy is food" then it follows that "gum is not candy". Sure, you find it at the candy counter. But you used to also find cigarettes there, too. Are they food? Or candy? Sometimes you find magazines at candy counters. Are they food? Or candy?

Clearly, gum is not food. QED
