> I've never heard of tevas or reefwalkers. I think I figured out what you were talking about when you said "sports sandals;" I may even have a pair of them, but you'd better post a picture of your shoes on your website so that I can know for certain what you're wearing on your feet.

You know. Those outdoor sandal things that generally have a cleated, rippled or otherwise outdoorsy rubber sole, and the straps are made of waterproof stuff with velcro, and you can wear them for hiking or in the water or climbing around on rocks or sloshing through mud, or anything else you like.

It hadn't occurred to me before writing this, but maybe this *is* the commonest form of sandal now, and this is what everybody thinks of when they hear the word. Personally, when I hear "sandal" I think of either the buckled brown leather variety which were worn (often with socks and shorts, God help us all) in the days of my youth by uncool male geography teachers, nerds and aging hippies. Either that, or the women's-fashion-shoe type of sandal which would have thin straps and an indoors-only sole.
