no race predictions

I didn't post any race predictions last week because I had this rotten cold. Better now.
Well, that was the excuse, not the whole reason.
It's tough predicting road races, because so much can happen. Any mistake can change the results.
All of the indicators pointed to Jeff Gordon and predicting him as a winner is a ho-hum, what-else-is-new situation. Not that I was unhappy with the win. He was flawless and deserved the win, but it would have been a better story is Boris Said or Ron Fellows had won. Come to think of it, Ron almost did and Boris was taken out by lousy luck.

Maybe I blinked, but did the TV ever show what, or who, caused that big wreck on the last lap? I have a strong but unfounded opinion about that.

DW did very well for an old man. There was a time when he wouldn't have been happy with 15th even on a road course, but I bet he was satified.

Bad luck bit Bill Elliott again. He can't buy a break. I think he still has what it takes to win.

Well, as they say, there's always next week.
Howard
