Last week, I played EF again for the first time in months, and noticed all those high scores by Gremlinn007. SOMEone has a real obsession with dethroning Nero as the number one ogre-gambler and trapped-chest avoider. (Or whatever.)

I got to wondering whether at a certain point, it isn't true that sheer luck takes over and separates the high scores from the *really* high scores. I figure that you can work out the strategy with the best probability for accumulating gold in EF (in fact, you posted a bunch of data and strategies in this forum awhile back, Sam), but adhering to the strategy will only get you so far on average. The rest of the distance to the Top 10 list must be simply playing the game endlessly, until you get some lucky games in which you win a lot of gambling sessions with the ogres, don't get killed by trapped chests, don't fall into many traps, and meet up with a bunch of orcs guarding piles of gold.

At any rate, Gremlinn007 must have a T1 or better if he's/she's willing to play EF enough times to dominate the top ten list. Otherwise, it's "click, go get a cookie, come back, click, check another web page, come back, etc...." ;-)
