I certainly didn't expect adding a couple of boards to the forum would trigger so much reflective sentiment from its readers, but since when has RinkWorks and the course of its community ever gone the way I expected?

I'm reading things from you, thanking me for bringing out the best in you. I'm reading things from Brunnen-G, saying that RinkWorks played a role in making her more secure about herself and more her real self in person. And I'm sitting here, struggling to figure out how the indulgence of my creative energy and affinity for the spotlight somehow paved the way for the assembly of so many of a rare and wonderful breed (namely, Internet users who know how to spell -- ok, ok, and also in possession of uncommon human decency and character), and that that, in turn, would affect so many people in a positive way.

I am overjoyed to be hearing these things. God works in mysterious but wonderful ways.

(P.S.: Of course, RinkWorks doesn't seem to have done right by *everybody*. Captain Wacky's first post in three years seems to indicate that his disposition has gone from sanguine benevolence to embittered sarcasm. Poor sod.)
