It matters not where you were born or how you
were brought up to speak. If you go and live in
the South for any appreciable amount of time,
you WILL begin to talk like a Southerner. It
seems unavoidable.

It happened to my family. We only lived in
North/South Carolina for a combined eight
years, and we've been back in Ohio for almost
seventeen years, yet we still catch ourselves
saying "y'all" and longing for sweet tea and
grits.
