Random People Moment

Today as I was walking to play practice, I saw a group of four people coming towards me. I had never seen them before and they seemed a little out of place at my conservative college. I'm not even totally sure they were students, but I'm almost positive simply because they even more didn't look like visitors. As they got near, I gave a little half-smile; I wanted to be friendly because I didn't want them to wrongly think I was staring at them. We approached even closer and the guy nearest to me said, "Smile. You're cute when you smile." I thought that was the funniest thing ever. I didn't expect him to say anything in the first place, and he wasn't offensive about it. If it hadn't have struck me as funny, or if he had been rude, I probably would have ignored him. But as we walked closer and passed each other I did smile, as a natural reaction to how hard I was laughing inside. He said, "thank you" -- in the tone of voice that you might use if something you've been trying to get to work finally does work, but you're not yet exasperated with it. The group of them and a very amused me went our separate ways.

I was wondering if anyone else has had any of these really random people experiences. You've never met a person before and your conversation is short, but it's something you'll remember for a while.
