For those of you who want to build your vocabulary so that you can communicate better when you travel, learn these Eastern Kentucky terms:
year - ear, those things you hear with
hit - it, third person singular non-gender pronoun
"Hit jest goes in one year and out the other."
yeller - yellow, a color between orange and green on the solar spectrum
dawg - dog, animal sometimes kept for a pet
jest - just, I think that's an adverb
"Hit was jest a little yeller dawg with a spot on hits year."
Howard(known in Eastern Kentucky as "Hard.")
