Periods and commas go inside the quotes at all times. End of discussion. Sorry, but that's how it goes. Now that I don't have to grade the papers anymore, I don't give a hoot where you put the end punctuation. I can read it either way. Personally, I put in inside the quotes most of the time, but just every now and then it feels better outside, so that's the way I do it. Howard
