I find that terribly annoying when someone
whispers or mumbles a line in a movie and it's
hard to decipher what it is they're actually
saying. Unfortunately, the director doesn't catch
it since he's too close to the project; he already
knows the line, so it sounds decipherable to him.
That's something that could and should be
corrected in pre-screenings. I know there has
been many times when I've been watching a movie, a
line is delivered, and my wife leans over and
asks, "What did he say?" only to have me reply, "I
don't know." The only one that comes to mind
right now is from "The Hunt For Red October". At
one point the American Commander, Scott Glenn,
gives the order: "All stop; quick quiet"...or is
it "All stop; good quiet"?
Fortunately, the world is now blessed with DVD's
with captions, so that we may never be in the dark
again.

Tra "Although, having to switch it on and go
backwards a little in order to see it can be
somewhat distracting from the whole movie
experience." nio
