Over at www.anti-awards.com, there is yet another alternative to the Oscars, this time run by a panel of movie-related websites (Cinescape, Corona's Coming Attractions, DVDFile.com, Pop Culture Corn Magazine, Zentertainment, and others.) From that website's main page:
The Anti Awards were created by a few of the Internet's finest movie related sites in order to accomplish two important goals:
1. To allow their readers to see what would happen if the personalities of the movie sites they frequent got to honor the films that REALLY deserve the acclaim.
2. To finally have an awards event where the winners weren't decided by political correctness, popularity contests, or lifetime achievement.

Although nicely stated goals, some of the awards and nominations are a bit odd. Also, there is no date for the presentation of these awards. It was nice to see Dark City actually get a nomination. But George "Sir Smirksalot" Clooney for best actor? Um, no.
