I'm back.

Let me quantify that. I have driven over two thousand miles in the last week on business, 1200 of them yesterday and today. The forum is back up and I can finally post again. A lot can happen when you spend ten hours a day on the road.

The Vietnam Wall. The only memorial I saw in the US that truly moved me. I went to Ellis Island and thought, "Hmm. OK." The war memorial at the south tip of Manhattan has the dates 1941-45 on it which as a Brit makes me just a little cynical. I went up Liberty and came down again and that's about all I can say for that.

What is it about that wall? A simple monument to a war I have no connection to. The thing that most affected me was the picture of a child standing, touching the wall. It shows his reflection with a G.I. standing next to him touching the wall at the same place the child is. The expressions on both their faces will stay with me forever.

One last thing. Tron - A totally awesome movie. When I saw it the only thing I could think about was where could I get a light-cycle.

That's it for now. I have to catch up on the rest of the messages.
