I'm sure that's a good tip. The only problem is, when one is faced with such a split-second decision, there isn't time to think it through. You just do what comes instinctively, which happened to be swerving to avoid a collision. Never mind that swerving could have caused another collision! Of course, now that I think about it, I could see down the road that I had room to swerve and not hit any oncoming traffic. Maybe if there had been cars there, I wouldn't have swerved. I don't know for sure.
