Argue with a claims agent as you may, it would still be your fault because you swerved out of your lane and into them. So, if ever it happens that you're faced with the split second decision to either hit the guy pulling out in front of you, or swerve and possibly hit someone else, don't swerve. Otherwise you'll be paying for it for years in higher premiums. (This is from a hypothetical conversation I had with an agent; I'm not speaking from direct experience.) > > I'm sure that's a good tip. The only problem is, when one is faced with such a split-second decision, there isn't time to think it through. You just do what comes instinctively, which happened to be swerving to avoid a collision. Never mind that swerving could have caused another collision! Of course, now that I think about it, I could see down the road that I had room to swerve and not hit any oncoming traffic. Maybe if there had been cars there, I wouldn't have swerved. I don't know for sure. > > Gri"only has one accident on his record, and hopes to keep it that way"shny
Sorta makes you wish you could slow down reality into "bullet time" from 'The Matrix' and really assess your options before making that instinctive movement that may turn out to be a mistake.
