Man, you picked the wrong week. This is spring break for most of you high schoolers and there are tons of people around taking tours. We had 250-300 every morning last week. I gave three tours, two of which rocked and the other of which was to about seventy people from a baptist student group. Doing student groups is really hard.

This is about how I felt about these two schools too, back when I was doing the rounds. I ended up not even applying to Amherst (which had been one of my top choices) and Williams rejected me. I had a very strong app (just to be modest. :), so I figure getting in there is pretty much random, like getting into Harvard or Yale.

Dartmouth rocks too.

I'd like to know what it is about a particular college tour that makes a school seem more or less interesting to you? Is it how genuine the tour guide seems? You can get most of the stats and everything from a book. What can a tour guide do to attract students like yourself?

I hope it'll be sunny so you can get a good taste of our campus. And if you feel like stopping by the French House to say hi anytime tomorrow morning before 1:30 or so feel free. :) I really hope you like W&M, though I would be thrilled to lose you to Williams or Dartmouth just cause they're such great schools.
