I think it would be a lot of fun to be in charge of setting up a casino and trying to figure out subtle ways to maximize its revenue.

It isn't just casinos. In fact they probably learn some of that stuff from retailers like supermarkets. Did you know that if you walk up and down all of the aisles in a supermarket, you will wind up at the back of the store? That way you will have to walk down one aisle again and the odds are the you will pick up another item.

And have you notice how many gas stations have the concrete tilted away from the pump? Drainage, maybe, but if your car leans away from the pump you can get a little more gas in there before the pump cuts off. If they sell a few ounces more to each customer who fills up, it adds up to a lot more sales at the end of the year.

My mother once saw the man who brings dairy products to our local supermarket spraying a peppermint mist around the front door. You guessed it. He had just filled a freezer with peppermint ice cream.
