Maybe that means that it is a low-power spell that can only levitate just enough to get you a few inches up, thereby passing over any floor triggers. But, if there is no ground, the power of the spell can't hold you up that high, and whammo, down you go. Now, am I a geek, or what? (and don't be afraid to answer yes, I consider myself a geek, and I'm proud of it).
