I thought it was that it told you that a trap was there, but the effects don't happen (no poison, no damage, etc, and it's disarmed), as long as it's a floor trap. If it's one of those like "frost sprays from the ceiling", then levitating wouldn't help, I would think, cause I get hit by those occasionally, even when levitating, but never floor traps.
