I've been watching the news and I think it's time for Aruba to send some of their police officers to London to study the proper way to investigate a crime.
And that judge, who turned a known sex offender loose to wipe out a little girl's family, is not likely to make the short list for a new justice on the supreme court.
Hurricane Dennis was very unkind to some people, but nice to us. We have had a slow soaking drizzle all day today. It has been the kind of rain that soaks in as it falls so that there is no danger of flooding.
Freedom of the press, free speech, property rights, and just about everything in the US constitution has taken a beating lately.
Somebody on TV the other day asked how the military draft was any different from slavery. Well, for one thing, slaves didn't get to wear a snappy uniform. But they didn't have to worry about getting blown up either.
Brad Pitt is in the hospital. He must have good insurance. If it turns out to be exhaustion, will they kick him out? People in Tennessee who are being kicked out of TennCare need to get on his health plan. No, wait. That won't work. Pre-existing conditions make them uninsurable. Never mind that TennCare was put in place to protect people who are otherwise uninsurable.
Have you noticed all of that clever product placement advertising in movies? Watch closely. It's beginning to show up on TV news.
Why do they keep saying Armstrong is yellow?
And in other sports news; Mark Martin is planning to retire at the end of the season, but they are begging him to drive the no. 6 car for another year. Why? Because the new driver they hired won't be available until 2007. (I guess it would be dangerous to let old no. 6 run around driverless for a full season.) Plan B is to put Sterling Marlin in the car until the new driver, Jamie McMurray, is available. As much as I would like to see Mark in there next year, I'd be interested to see what Sterling can do with competitive equipment. Howard
