I'm a sometimes soccer fan. Three of my grandchildren have played, and one of them excelled. His high school team won the state championship.

In the winter, he played indoor soccer and that is one really exciting game. I can't figure out the substitution rule, and some of the card system, whatever that is, but it's a blast to watch.

Another grandson, who is seven and as big as a ten-year-old, shows promise. He is half Peruvian, so soccer is in his blood. He plays with a group that is his size but older and seems to hold his own.

I hope none of them ever take up Rugby. I'm too old to learn another sport.
