Precisely correct. You can't skip and you can't go back: the test is adaptive, so that the questions it presents you are based upon your answers to previous questions. I believe you can still take a paper test, I am not entirely sure what the advantages/disadvantages are at this time.
> I never had to worry about my Math scores but Verbal was a struggle back then. I spent a summer prepping for Verbal and ignored Math but when I took the test, my Verbal only went up 10 and my Math went up 70. So, studying for specific types of problems might be helpful but I think general concepts might be better. Don't quote me on that one.
Since you're apparently fine at math, how would you reccomend going about learning general concepts? I think you're probably right about that. The math on the GRE is pretty simple, nothing more complex than high school algebra and geometry.
It's all multiple choice, and most of the math questions ask you which quantity is bigger. Most of these just require you solve simple single-variable equations or inequalities, but there is some limited bi-variate analysis.
My problem is just that I don't really know algebra that well and get confused with figuring out to how to evaluate anything more than the simplest of problems. With geometry I'm even worse -- I know a few basic theorems and that's it. I do okay at the probability/statistics stuff.
What's a good way to remind myself how algebra and geometry work?

You can download the program with two full sample tests for free. It functions identical to the actual computer-based test, I believe. See the link below.
